Young Caique Breeding | Age, Box?

A viewer asked about breeding Caiques, specifically about their breeding age and giving them a box.

Some parrots, like humans, don’t want to breed or can’t. These don’t seem common-

I like giving my Caiques a nest box because they like sleeping in it, regardless of their age. When they are old enough and ready, they will then use it to breed.

Breeding can be encouraged by keeping your parrot on a healthy diet, keeping their cage clean and giving seeds when they would be available in the wild, in the winter. These, combined with access to sunlight, will trigger parrots that are ready and healthy.
