A #Caique (#Caique_Parrot) like no other.

Sure, you can say that about every species… but Caique Parrots really are different. For example, this is a parrot that can fly – of course- but would rather walk, skip/jump or hop!

They are often called the ‘clowns’ of the parrot family; I think of them as vivacious, playful. I feel like they see life differently than my other parrots do. When they look at someting, they SEE it. If they look in your eye, they look into your soul.

Like most other parrots, Caiques have a mind of their own. Someone asked me if Cape Parrots are stubborn. Ha! I find that parrots are stubborn! Yes, Caiques have a mind of their own, but their hearts triple their size.

What You Need To Know!

Are you thinking about getting a Caique?

I wouldn’t call them a ‘starter’ bird – that’s because you already have to be accustomed to a lifestyle on cage-cleaning, feeding and entertaining! Caiques may be medium-sized parrots, but they don’t know it and they don’t behave as though they are.

The Caiques kept looking at the camera screen…looking at the other 2 Caiques and the other you??
I've often wondered, when watching parrots being filmed, if they aren't confused about what they're seeing? They don't know it's them, right?
The same concept as mirrors and the connections our feathered friends make with them?
Just wondering, if that could be what was causing their unusual "beakines" and extra "finger-nibbles" and any nervous behavior during this vid's capture?
Love your Caiques…I enjoy all the presentations of all your flock. Thank you! 🌻🌻🌻

You wonder why they're getting rambunctious, but it's exactly like children demanding undivided attention from a distracted parent

Enjoyed the video, but more talking and less playing might add to your next video. My Caique is now 14 years old and I've had him sense hatching. My Caique (Maxx) enjoys the company of the 4 Parakeets that I have just to keep him company. He even lets them eat out of his bowl when he's eating. I used to rescue Cockatoos, and talk about a WORLD of difference between these birds. But a Caique is a great smaller bird for people who have the time to deal with them.

I love that your video is very informative in a way that doesn't make you scared of how high energy they are.

"Are you eating that or destroying it?" Is the motto with my caique 😂
