Giving up your pet us the hardest thing ever. We've just handed our conure over to my husband's life long friend because we're moving countries and our boy never travelled well, hated the car, let alone a plane, and we thought a long journey might finish him off, he's not a young bird. We get regular photos and honestly, it was the best decision, he's so well cared for and much loved.

It’s sad to think Mango is probably so comfortable because yes, he had a good owner (at least emotionally and safety wise) so he probably thinks she’s coming back. That’s why he’s just adventuring. It’s a hard decision, I feel bad for both of them. Especially since he’s been there since the age of 2. People really need to be careful before getting such high maintenance animals. Bunnies and birds end up in these problems (which usually ends with a much less happy ending) and it’s very sad.
