It’s fun to play with a parrot in a bird room. I started to play with my caique parrot Puffy then my African grey Jesse joined in the fun! My caique Puffy started to hop and then Jesse also became a hopping parrot. I love happy moments like this in the bird room.
Parrots can are a lot of fun but are a lifetime commitment. Parrots can live to be 80 plus years, and many outlive their owners. Parrots also bite, scream and make big messes! Puffy bit a hole through my lip 2 years ago, and I had to get stitches. I have a scar to always remember his bite! Do your research before you decide to adopt and volunteer at a parrot rescue to get hands-on experience. Many birds are given up the first 3 years of their lifetime. Many owners are shocked when their cute parrot starts attacking them when their bird becomes sexually mature and attacking family members or other pets in the home. Do Your Research!

I’m the only human in my home. I’m retired too so my birds see me all the time. I just got a mini trampoline aka rebounded a few days ago. I started bouncing and noticed my Conure bobbing to the Rhythm. YaY I have an exercise buddy. Wonder what the African grey will think. Her current owner is boring.

Hey April I hope you see this comment , I have a question at what age do caiques typically start to hop around? I got a WB caique last week it's a male got him at 6weeks still hand feeding he is now 7weeks he definitely grew in those last 7days and moves around alot more believe it or not , but the hopping hasn't started yet so I was wondering if you knew when that might start..

They are so cute. They made me laugh. Did Puffy teach Jesse to hop? I also noticed that Puffy makes the dinosaur sound that Jesse makes. They must really like each other. Are they becoming good friends? I hope so. I adore them.want to see more.

April, I love your videos and your Adopt Don't Shop messages. You're awesome and an angel for parrots. However, in this video, it's important to emphasize that people should not use their hands during play with parrots. Especially not with Caiques and other parrots who tend to react with aggression when excited. In doing so, you're actually inciting an existing behavior such as attacking and biting, for example as Puffman does when he attacks your mask, etc. as in other videos you've shown. It's better to help parrots learn to play with their toys. A parrot caretaker can still be a part of that fun playtime and enjoy the moment, without inciting their parrot.
