Its name is related to kayak so yeah should be spelled with an umlaut and pronounced in at least two syllables. Cuz the way it’s being pronounced here is a slur that I think many people have forgotten about unless you’re in or around that community. Caïque. The Turkish kayık is pronounced like ka-yuk.

Don’t keep exotic birds in captivity unless you are really saving a bird and giving it a new home. Don’t buy a young bird!!!!! And if you do adopt make sure you know all there is to know about how to take REALLY good care of the bird with all the specifics of their diet and wellbeing. Those can vary greatly among exotic birds. But remember first and before all that all animals deserve to live freely and not live to our mercy. Birds not in the least.

There are no golden headed caiques. They are called white bellied. They come from the south side of the Amazon. Black headed live on the north side. The Amazon keeps them separate since they can't fly across
