The contrast of black, white, and deep sky blue colouring is fascinating. The nice and calm nature underlines the elegance of the unique mutation of the South American parrot species, which is found in only one breeding facility in the world – the Conservation Centre Zoologico del Istmo, at the zoo‘s founder and bird breeding expert Jaco Lacs. By now you may have guessed that it is the Black-headed Caique species – Pionites melanocephalus pallidus in the blue mutation.
